once I was lavender
cornflower too
like spring, when all is fresh and new,
loves' fragrant flowers around us grew
forever blue
with you
at times I was topaz
sapphire too
jeweled skies yielded treasured views
cloud movies played, only for two,
forever blue
with you
then I was cobalt
and azure too
those liquid pool eyes I dove into
then surfaced, holding your heart true,
forever blue
with you
now I am navy
and midnight too
draped in this meloncholy hue
I wear a sombre point of view
forever blue...
...without you
for you...blue

love your use of color here and also playing with the font colors..lovely poem with a bluesy ending..
Great words with a touch of melancholy at the end.
Really like how the colors fit the life stages, but always end with the pure blue of loss. Excellent use of third and fourth lines throughout the pattern you've established. Definitely a poem about the blues.
love the transformation you take us through and the use of color...nice rhymes through out as well...very nice one shot
Yes. I agree the color use throughout and with the type color takes us through the transformation. Funnily enough I have a poem named "Forever Blue" too. It could be a follow up to this one. LOL! I enjoyed this a great deal. Thank you, Gay

Ahh, the last line was so moving/touching. A great colorful read.

Delightful use of the color blue to make a powerful statement through the continuum of love
poor color I wonder how it ended up getting the bad rap
thanks for sharing with One Shot
Very nice use of colors to show the journey through love.
Great entry.
Thanks for sharing.
Wow, you covered all shades and hues of blue and connected the metaphor of the human longing...nice Elaine...bkm
Guess that's why they call it the blues... nice poem.
I love the way you use the colors here...the end sad...nice one shot!
Blue is also the color of the sky, or the ocean, or a Morning Glory... not always sad. :)
Nice One Shot, Elaine!
A creative use of the monochromatic shades of blue matched with different emotions. Lovely one shot.
Red is my favorite color, but the way you do blue could turn me. I loved this.
Very moving and beautiful!
